Then he wouldn’t have any leverage to negotiate terminating the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.

He cant Section 5 prohibits him from doing so

Nothing in Section 4 allows the President to do such a thing, as a matter of fact if you look at the language in Section 4, it specifically has the language “authorized by law” indicating that no unilateral action can be taken without first having law written to do so, which obviously would require Congress according to our Constitution.

That would be a misuse of the amendment. Its intention was to invalidate the confederacy’s debt, not provide a limitless U. S. debt.

That idea was floated out there (the fake amendment clause) by the leftists dreaming about an Obama dictatorship. It went over like an armed drone over Camp David.

I’m hoping the right-wing nation-destroying corporate-colluding Republicans quit playing political one-upsmanship games with America’s future, but if they continue to pursue their FISCAL INSANITIES, then I am one who hopes President Obama does indeed invoke the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.

Liberals are not the only ones who think he should—even most economists and global markets are hoping that this would avert a disasterous (nation-destroying) default situation from which the United States might not ever recover! Republicans are mean-spirited, selfish, and 100% foolish if they continue to hold this nation’s sovereignty hostage in a SNIT-FIT POUT because they can’t have their way on having the millionaires and billionaires pay a FAIR SHARE to provide some sorely needed REVENUE! I’m a moderate on most issues and even at times prudish (conservative) about table manners or social graces, but I hope he takes the bull by the horns and ACTS INDEPENDENTLY to save this country.
