    Only consider a non-profit agency.
Do not dare go to a for-profit company that just wants to line their pockets with your money.

Go to : National Foundation for Credit Councelling http://www. nfcc. org/
They are non-profit. No cost to you.
Reviews call them angels from above.
One negative review said it was embarrassing – that’s it.
You call the number on the site and they will make you an appointment at a local office.
If they put you on a DMP program (debt management program) the cost is only about $30, but only if you can afford it.
They can contact your creditors and see if they can negotiate, settle, even do a pay on delete on one time items (if you have cash to pay for it).
If bankrtupcy is your only option, they will be honest and tell you.

You can also do this yourself.
They do nothing that is not clearly in books from your library or bookstore.
Look for books like Credit and Debt Repair for Dummies.
Great book, simple and easy to understand. . .

Using a credit counseling service and having this situation reported in your credit report should not have any negative impact to your FICO® score, according to http://www. myfico. com and http://www. christiancreditcounselors. org.

You can use this credit monitoring service to pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of such payments – credit-report-score. 10001mb. com
