I hаνе seen hіm hаνе cider fοr breakfast, beer аt lunchtime, gin іn thе evening (whісh knocks hіm out). Hе hаѕ bееn fοr counselling – didn’t work. Hе hаѕ nο job οr woman аnd hаѕ bееn lіkе thіѕ fοr years. Hе mυѕt bе seriously іn debt. Hе doesn’t seem tο want anything, bυt hе manages hіѕ apartment јυѕt аbουt ok. Hе іѕ harmless аnd lονеѕ animals. I don’t know whаt tο advise hіm.
He is the only one that can make decisions. You can’t do anything but tell him how you feel.
It sounds like you have done all you can to assist this friend. Sometimes with addiction we have to step back and let our friend or loved one hit rock bottem. Us asking or telling them to change will not work- they have to want to change themselves. I wish you the best of luck. Your friend is lucky to have you who cares as much as you do.
He wn’t get it until he gets it, but talking to him may help. I’d sit down and say hey where are you going like this. Your alot better then this. Sometmes these people are just happy being he way they are and nothing can change that, other then like i said theirselves.
He has to want to stop drinking on his own. I have a relative just like him he don’t work either he just drinks everyday (early in the . morning)and blame everyone else for his problems. He feel like he don’t have a problem with drinking. When he drinks he becomes a different person. Until he wants to the only thing u can do is speaking to him about how his drinking effects eveyone around him. Drinking its a very powerful diesease it take over people lives. Never taken drugs, but I suspect drink is worse because it is socially acceptable. HE has to WANT to stop, or cut down.
