I would avoid going into one of these “programs” and instead seek out local nonprofit credit counseling that will advise you on how best to settle the debts on your own.
If you are sure that the settlement is a sure thing, check with your creditors to see if they will accept a minimum or allow you to skip a payment or two till your settlement comes in. But you need to pay off the debts in full to save your credit score. Good Luck!
