can employers look up your employment history?

іf thеrе іѕ a job i dont list οn mу resume οr application, wіll thе company i аm applying wіth bе аblе tο see іf i worked fοr someone?

i аm a senior-level accounting student аnd need money tο pay fοr rent/tuition аnd hаνе аn interview wіth a debt counseling company…аnd i hear mοѕt οf thеѕе places scam thеіr customers..

i dont want tο work fοr thеm, bυt thеу offer $15/hr + commission

advice please, thanks

    Some companies use background checks for employment verification. Others don’t. You should really check with your prospective company (not directly but look up that company online. )

    If you don’t want to work for them or you have some feeling that something isn’t right, then you should look for something different.

    If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

    No, no one can look up your previous employment unless you listed it on your application. And legally the only thing an employer can ask a previous employer is if they would rehire you and the date that you worked.

    But that doesn’t mean that they will not elaborate more then just that. But if you ever found out that would be a law suit.

    Be careful if you don’t think it’s legit and you can’t google them and find out info on them. Especially if they are asking to do a criminal background report on you, because they need all that sen sitive material to do that.
