When you have no other options. file and get your finances back in order. I filed over 15 years ago when I lost my job and could not find one for year and I felt bad about not paying my creditors, but I had to.

Now I have a great credit and have not missed a bill since

When you are in a hole you can’t get out of in 5 years. Also don’t bother if you haven’t learned a lesson. Losing a job isn’t a huge surprise most of us lose jobs every few years to down sizing or the company going away. Quiting a job before lining up another may have been a mistake and not taking COBRA is a standard mistake most of us make.
What would you do different so this doesn’t happen again?

First of all, I would take those medical bills and approach the local Health and Human Services department and see if they can help you. This won’t be easy, but if they can do something for you, it might be worth it.

Debt consolidation can be seedy. You want to make sure and find one that is in good standing with the BBB.

As far as filing for BKY, be aware that it will be on your credit for 10 years. If most of your bills are medical, I think you should contact the creditors yourself and tell them that you will make arrangements. After all, they can’t repossess body parts, can they?

I also agree with the previous poster who said that you should do what you can to ensure this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. Get your high interest debt paid off, learn to live simply and within your means, blah blah blah blah.

Have no idea why the panic — you haven’t paid any one in two years so why worry now. I would speculate that you do not own any thing of value. Now your gona hire an attorney — how much does he want up front. . ??? This would not of happened if you would have gotten a job — instead of holding out for a position. Or med benefits which few employers offer — because it is too expensive. Made a deal to pay monthly on the medical bills. . . Whats the hurry??? Your credit is over — you borrowed your last quarter. . . Good Luck

    Hi,

I used “Credit Solution” to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58% . It’s legitimate. I came across this company on NBC News. Check it out here:
